Manchester United making final checks on young midfielder
Manchester United are set to run the rule over Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, reports the Sunday Express.
The Frenchman was on Wolves' radar last summer, but the Premier League outfit were put off by Lille's asking price.
Interest in the 20-year-old remains high with United now keen on Soumare, while Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the Lille ace.
However, it's United who lead the race for Soumare and sent scouts to watch Lille's Ligue 1 clash at Dijon as they prepare a bid for the youngster.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to bolster his midfield this month with Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek and Agustin Almendra all linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Soumare has returned a WhoScored rating of 6.50 from his 17 league appearances this season with his pass success rate of 89.9% one of the best for Lille this season.
