Manchester United starlet Anthony Martial has been named the 2015 Golden Boy award for Europe’s best young player.
Martial, 20, became the world’s most expensive teenager when he joined United from Monaco over the summer for £36m but has already developed into one of Louis van Gaal’s key players.
The France international has beaten 12 other young players nominated for the award and joins the likes of Wayne Rooney and Anderson to win the award for United and other previous winners that include Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba.
However, from those nominated for their performances in 2015, Hector Bellerin should have received the accolade according to WhoScored’s rating system. The Arsenal full-back garnered a rating of 7.24 in 2015, with Martial actually ranked down at fourth from his 33 appearances for Monaco and United (7.02).

It was fixed! Bellerin and Arsenal robbed! But defensive players rarely win individual awards anyway.
