Villarreal are hopeful of re-signing Denis Cheryshev and believe the pull of Champions League football next season can bring the Real Madrid winger back to the El Madrigal, claims Marca.
Cheryshev, 25, only spent six months on loan at Valencia last season and is unlikely to return following their disastrous campaign under Nuno, Gary Neville and Pako Ayestaran.
The Russia international previously spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan at Villarreal and Marcelino wants to bring the wideman back to the club next season when The Yellow Submarines will welcome Champions League football for the eight years.
In seven appearances for Valencia last season Cheryshev weighed in with three goals and finished the campaign averaging more shots per game than any other teammate (1.9).
