Spurs boss watches Netherlands international

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is interested in signing AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen, according to The Daily Mirror.

Pochettino was pictured in the crowd watching Ireland’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Saturday and it was thought the Tottenham boss was there to watch Ireland and Southampton striker Shane Long.

However, it has now emerged the Tottenham manager was actually paying a close eye on Netherlands striker Janssen, who has enjoyed a sensational season for Alkmaar.

Janssen, 21, finished the season as the top goalscorer in Holland (27) and his form has even forced his way into the national squad, where he scored on his debut against England earlier this year.

In fact, since the turn of the year only Luis Suarez (25) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (23) have scored more goals than Janssen across Europe’s leagues in 2016 (21).
