Real Madrid are considering a move for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko as an alternative for Paul Pogba, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The La Liga giants look set to miss out on the 23-year-old, who is closing in on a return to Manchester United, and have since turned their attention to Sissoko.
The Newcastle star has emerged as a shock target for Real Madrid, after he played a vital role for France at the European Championship.
Newcastle are demanding £30m for Sissoko, who has been attracting interest from Juventus and Borussia Dortmund this summer in the wake of his impressive showings on the international stage.
While Sissoko’s club form left a lot to be desired last term, Real Madrid are still willing to match the Magpies’ valuation for the 26-year-old midfielder.
