The agent of Jorginho has fuelled talk of a summer switch to Manchester City after claiming it would be easy to find an agreement with the Premier League side for his client.
Pep Guardiola has made bolstering his midfield options one of his main priorities this summer and has made Jorginho a top transfer target.
The Premier League champions were in the running to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, but have cooled their interest since January.
City are now the frontrunners to prise Jorginho away from Napoli and the midfielder’s agent, Joao Santos, has hinted at a summer switch.
“At this moment Jorginho is still under contract but if Napoli finds an agreement with City, the player will go to Manchester,” he told CalcioNapoli24. “Finding an agreement with the English club will not be a problem considering the importance of the team.
“But, I repeat, that will depend on the decisions of Napoli as the player is tied for another two years. City are the Champions of England are one of the top European clubs. If Napoli and City find a solution, we can talk about it, otherwise he will be happy to continue in Naples.
“At the moment, I have not heard anything from the leadership of Napoli. I hope to hear from the director and maybe in the next few days I will be in Naples to talk about it.”
Jorginho is widely regarded as one of the best central midfielders in Europe and he would only make City stronger in their bid to defend their Premier League title next season.
Manchester United considered a move for the Italy international but have now switched their attention to Fred.
No player in Europe’s top five leagues averages more passes per game than Jorginho this season (94.8).
