Willian set for Manchester United switch after Barca cool interest
A flurry of bids from Barcelona for Chelsea and Brazil star Willian are believed to have come to end after the Spanish champions opted for a cut price option in compatriot Malcom.
That, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via The Express) has paved the way for long term admirers Manchester United to make their move and the report goes as far as to claim that a fee of €75m has already been agreed.
That would fall in line with an offer that the Blues reportedly rejected from Barcelona, but Willian reportedly has his heart set on a move and has been linked with a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho for some time.
The Red Devils tried to sign the Brazilian this time last year but a move failed to materialise and are still keen to bolster their options out wide.
Gareth Bale was another top target but he now looks set to stay at Real Madrid following the departure of Zinedine Zidane and sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, so Willian is now United’s priority as they look to add to their squad down the right flank in particular.
The 29-year-old had a direct hand in 13 Premier League goals last season, despite only starting 20 times, and from said starts his WhoScored.com rating was an impressive 7.58.
