Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has spoken with Manchester Cty right-back Joao Cancelo about a possible move to north London, reports El Desmarque.
The Portuguese defender only moved to City from Juventus over the summer, but the 25-year-old has suposedly become frustrated at a lack of regular game time for Pep Guardiola's side.
Indeed, while Cancelo has largely featured in the Champions League, making four starts in the competition, the right-back has made just eight Premier League appearances.
Second choice to Kyle Walker, Cancelo is keen on regular first team action with Euro 2020 looming and Mourinho is believed to have discussed a possible move to Spurs.
The north London side are rumoured to be in the market for a new right-back this month having added a new midfielder to the squad this month in Gedson Fernandes.
Kyle Walker-Peters is allowed to leave on loan this month and Mourinho is wary about being left short of defensive options.
Serge Aurier has also failed to impress in the role and while Japhet Tanganga has excelled in the role, Mourinho is eager to add a specialist in the position to bolster the Spurs squad.
