Swansea agree deal to sign Chievo top goalscorer

Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin is on the verge of making Chievo striker Alberto Paloschi his first signing at the club, according The Guardian.

The Premier League strugglers have agreed a deal in principle to sign Paloschi worth £8m and will now hope to agree terms with the 26-year-old.

Swansea are keen to bolster their offensive options amid speculation they could offload Bafetimbi Gomis in the next few days and Guidolin, who is vastly experienced in Italian football, believes Paloschi could prove decisive in their bid to beat the drop.

Paloschi, a former Italy Under-21 international, has scored at least twice as many league goals for Chievo than any other player this season (8). Moreover, only Carlos Bacca (31) has been caught offside more times than Paloschi (26) in Serie A this season.
