Cristiano Ronaldo rejects improved Real Madrid deal

Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected Real Madrid’s latest attempts to secure his long-term future, reports Yahoo.

Juventus are desperate to sign Ronaldo in a club-record €100m (£88.3m) deal and are waiting for the greenlight before officially bidding for the veteran.

Ronaldo has spent the last nine years at Madrid and developed into one of the best players of all-time, but is finally determined to leave the club.

Julen Lopetegui’s side have made a last-ditch attempt to secure Ronaldo’s remaining years but the 33-year-old has rejected an improved contract offer.

The Portugal international is currently on holiday in Greece and Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has flown out to meet with the Madrid No.7.

Juventus are willing to shatter their wage structure to land Ronaldo and have already prepared a contract that is worth four times that of their highest-paid player.

There are big money offers on the table from China, but Ronaldo wants to challenge himself in another major European league by joining Serie A giants Juventus.

Ronaldo is now free to resolve his future following Portugal’s elimination from the 2018 World Cup earlier this month. The veteran forward scored four goals in five appearances, including a stunning hat-trick in Portugal’s opening group game against Spain.

Furthermore, the Madrid No.7 has scored more Champions League goals against Juventus than against any other team in his career (10).
