Frenchman still happy at United

The agent of Anthony Martial has dismissed reports suggesting the forward is unhappy with life at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.

Martial, 20, joined United in a blockbuster deal from Monaco in 2015 before having an outstanding debut campaign under Louis van Gaal.

However, the France international saw his No.9 jersey taken away following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer and has struggled for form and fitness since Euro 2016.

There had been reports suggesting all was not well between Jose Mourinho and Martial, but his agent, Philippe Lamboley, has refuted those claims and insists the young forward is still very happy at Old Trafford.

“He is very happy over there,” Lamboley told French radio station RMC, via Get French Football. “People are trying to make him out to be unhappy because he is not smiling the whole time. It is part of personality.

“The people who know him well, know that he is a smiley boy, warm and approachable. He is incredibly attached to the fans, who have really welcomed him well. He is very attached to the club and his teammates.

“He has one desire: to have a great season and to win titles with United. Let him work, let this 20 year old youngster enjoy himself doing what he loves. What he has accomplished already is incredible. He has his entire career ahead of him. And I can promise you the best is yet to come.”

Despite struggling for form and fitness this season, Martial has still scored more league goals than any other United player since the start of last season (12).
