Villarreal on brink of signing AC Milan striker

Villarreal are on the verge of handing Carlos Bacca a route back to Spain after agreeing an initial loan deal with AC Milan, reports Calciomercato.

Bacca has been transfer listed by Milan following their huge summer spending spree but has struggled to find any suitors willing to match the club’s transfer demands.

Vincenzo Montella’s side have already signed Andre Silva from Porto for a near club-record deal and are keen to sign at least one more striker, with Nikola Kalinic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang favourites to join.

It leaves means that Bacca’s time at Milan is all but over after just two years at the club and the Colombia international had hoped to return to Sevilla.

However, Villarreal have reportedly made a breakthrough in discussions with the Serie A giants, agreeing to pay a loan fee of €2.5m (£2.28m).

The Spanish side have reportedly also agreed to have an option to make the move permanent, rather than a mandatory clause, for a further €15.5m (£14.1m).

In the last two Serie A campaigns, Bacca is the only Milan player that has hit double figures for goals (31).
