Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has revealed it’s a ‘great pleasure’ to be linked with a move to Tottenham and Manchester United.
Perez, 22, joined the Magpies from Tenerife for just £1.5m last summer and has been an impressive performer amid mediocrity at St. James’ Park.
The Spaniard was on hand to score a stoppage time winner against Spurs at the weekend to take his tally to 11 Premier League goals in 50 appearances and the forward has admitted he is pleased to be mooted with a move to some of the biggest clubs in England.
“I just know the same as you. What I hear, what I read. It is a great pleasure for me [to be linked with Man United and Spurs],” he told IBTimes UK.
“It is incredible, something very big and that’s because I’m doing well but I must go on. It’s my job. You never know. Football takes many turns.
“[At Spurs] in fact I am substitute [for Newcastle]. I am working hard to be in the manager’s starting plans. That’s all I think – to work. Then the fruits arrive.
“I am very happy at Newcastle. They gave me everything, they made me professional. I want to continue working with them, trying to climb on the table and then whatever happens will happen.”
Since the start of the season, only two Newcastle players average more dribbles per game in the Premier League than Perez (1.7).
