West Brom midfielder gets new deal

Darren Fletcher has triggered a clause in his current deal with West Brom to grant him another 12 months at the club running until the end of next season, reports the Birmingham Mail.

The 33-year-old has been a pillar of consistency for West Brom since joining the club from Manchester United in February 2015 but had entered the final six months of his contract.

Fletcher, who has proven a superb addition to the squad for many levels, has now reportedly met a clause in his deal that means he will stay at the club for another season at least.

Despite arriving at West Brom with concerns over his health that restricted his involvement towards the end of his United career, Fletcher has remarkably started every single league game for West Brom.

In fact, since the start of February 2015 only Leicester captain Wes Morgan (7005 minutes) has featured in more minutes of action than Fletcher (6891) in the Premier League.
