Chelsea favourite to seal dream move 'within days'

Spanish outlet Marca claim that an agreement will be reached for Eden Hazard to join Real Madrid in the summer over the coming days.

The report claims that the two clubs are close to negotiating a fee and that the player will do the same before travelling to Madrid to finalise a deal that has been mooted for years.

Zinedine Zidane is believed to have made the Belgian his top transfer target and the Spanish giants are willing to offer the Chelsea man a six-year deal at the Bernabeu.

Hazard was wanted by Real Madrid last summer but the club baulked at the Blues asking price, but with just one year remaining on his current contract come the summer, the fee is likely to have dropped significantly.

Hazard has made no secret of his desire to play for Los Blancos in the future, stating in December "Me, you know me, I've always loved Real, even before (Zinedine) Zidane, we'll see what happens.

“As I said, I'm already finishing this year with Chelsea, I still have a year of contract after this year, we'll see."

The returned Real Madrid coach has been equally open about his interest in the 28-year-old, confirming ”He's a player I have always appreciated.

”Everyone knows that. He has played in France, I have watched him a lot and I know him personally. He is a fantastic player."

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s emergence at Stamford Bridge may well play a role in Chelsea’s decision to let Hazard leave, rather than risk losing him on a free next year, despite the fact that he has had a direct hand in 17 more league goals (14 goals, 12 assists) than any other teammate.
