Malang Sarr is set to sign his first professional contract with Nice that a hidden release clause of €50m (£44.4m), reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Ligue 1 regulations state it is illegal to include a release clause in a player’s contract, but Nice are reportedly going to get round those rules and include one in the deal following his sensational start to the season.
Sarr, 17, has been one of the revelations of the season and his performances at the heart of Nice’s defence have been integral behind their incredible start to the season.
Nice are currently six points clear of Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain at the top of Ligue 1 and the teenager has featured in all 11 of their league matches thus far.
In fact, only two players have completed more interceptions in Ligue 1 this season than Sarr (36).
