Markovic farmed out to Fenerbahce on loan

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic is set to join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal, according to The Guardian.

Markovic, 21, joined the Merseyside club from Benfica in 2013 for £21m but has struggled to nail down a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI and will now go out to Fenerbahce to continue his development.

The Serbia international will return to Liverpool, however, with the winger still very much in Rodgers’ long-term plans.

Markovic only managed 11 starts in the Premier League last season and has failed to feature in any of Liverpool’s matchday squads for their first three Premier League games.
