Everton line up highly rated Anderlecht midfielder for summer switch

Everton are hot on the heels of Anderlecht youngster Leander Dendoncker according to The Sun.

The 22-year old has been an integral player for the Belgian outfit this season, helping Rene Weiler’s men to a title charge as well as a Europa League quarter-final with Manchester United.

The youngster was on the scoresheet in the first leg against Jose Mourinho’s men and played every single minute (1110) of the club’s European campaign.

With 39 interceptions in the tournament prior to Anderlecht’s extra time exit at Old Trafford, Dendoncker ranks third in the Europa League and it’s his defensive qualities that most catch the eye.

Everton are well stocked in midfield areas at present but given Gareth Barry’s advancing years, along with James McCarthy and Mo Besic’s persistent injury problems, Koeman is believed to have been tracking the Anderlecht star for some time now and could make a move this summer.
