Barcelona are interested in signing a new right-back in January and have earmarked Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner as a potential target, according to Mundo Deportivo, via Football Italia.
Lichtsteiner, 33, has dropped down the pecking order at Juventus this season following the arrival of Dani Alves from Barcelona in the summer.
The Switzerland international was even left out of Max Allegri’s Champions League squad and Barcelona are interested in signing the right-back as they look to replace Aleix Vidal when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Lichtsteiner has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal with Juventus and is unlikely to be handed a renewal beyond the end of this season, opening up the door for a January exit.
Despite only making four appearances in the league this season, Lichtsteiner has already scored more goals (1) than this season than he managed in 26 appearances last term.
