West Ham ace set to miss international break

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has revealed Michail Antonio is set to withdraw from the England squad for the international break next week after suffering a hamstring injury in the club’s 3-2 defeat to Leicester on Saturday.

Antonio has been one of few bright points in West Ham’s season and Gareth Southgate rewarded the versatile forward with another call-up to his senior squad with the 26-year-old looking to make his England debut.

The West Ham ace came through the match without needing to be replaced by Bilic but the West Ham manager confirmed the injury news after their second successive 3-2 defeat in the Premier League.

“Antonio is probably going to be withdrawn from the England squad with a hamstring problem,” The Daily Mail quote Bilic as saying. “He felt something, but he played the whole game, just that the medical team told me now. He didn’t limp off, so we will see.”
