Borussia Dortmund have been served a major blow after making such a lightening start to the season after receiving news Marco Reus is set for another spell on the sidelines through injury.
According to The Associated Press, the 26-year-old has broken the big toe on his left foot with other outlets suggesting this was sustained during Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin at the weekend.
While no timeframe has been placed on Reus’ latest injury, he is almost certainly out of contention for Germany’s two upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland and Scotland over the next three days.
The former Gladbach winger has started the season in sensational fashion, but will have to pick himself up after another injury set back. In fact, only Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (both 4) have had a more direct hand in Dortmund’s league goals than Reus (3) this season.
