Barcelona will be without Andreas Iniesta for two weeks after the midfielder suffered a bruised knee in their 2-0 win over Sevilla in the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana, according to Grup 14.
Iniesta, 32, was substituted half way through the first half of their encounter with Sevilla and will now miss the return leg at the Camp Nou on Wednesday as well as their league opener against Real Betis on Saturday.
In fact, the Spain international isn’t likely to be back in Barcelona colours until after the international break midway through September, when Barcelona host to newly promoted side Alaves on September 10.
In the last five La Liga campaigns only Lionel Messi (4244) has completed more final third passes than Iniesta (3269).
