Arsenal have made an enquiry to sign Lille full-back Djibril Sidibe, according to French newspaper L’Equipe, via 101 Great Goals.
Sidibe, 23, looked set for a move to Monaco earlier this week after Lille’s Ligue 1 rivals agreed a €15m (£13m) deal that would also see midfielder Rony Lopes go the other way on loan.
However, a deal is now reportedly on the verge of collapsing following Arsene Wenger’s late intervention as the Arsenal manager looks to sign the left-back.
No player completed more tackles and interceptions in Ligue 1 last season than Sidibe (240).
