Neymar fuels talk of Real Madrid switch

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has fuelled talk of a move to Real Madrid after revealing he wants to play with Eden Hazard.

Madrid are expected to be one of the busiest sides in Europe in the summer transfer window and are closing in on a £100m deal to sign Hazard from Chelsea.

The Belgium international will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Chelsea deal at the end of the season and will not renew with the club.

Madrid could end up raiding the Premier League of three of their best players after also earmarking midfield duo Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen as top transfer targets.

The Spanish giants have been linked with a move for Neymar ever since the Brazil international left Barcelona to join PSG in a world record £222m deal in the summer of 2017.

Madrid’s interest appeared to have cooled this season but they could rekindle their pursuit following Neymar’s admission he would like to play with Hazard.

“I would like to play with Hazard. He has a style similar to mine,” Neymar told Fox Sports. “I think I could give it a try. We would cause havoc together.”

Zinedine Zidane’s side had earmarked Neymar’s PSG team-mate, Kylian Mbappe, as a top target but the 2018 World Cup winner has confirmed he will not leave this summer.

Neymar has picked up two long-term foot injuries in each of his first two seasons with PSG, limiting the Brazilian to just 34 league appearances.

Despite struggling to stay fit for prolonged periods, the 27-year-old has remarkably still played a direct hand in 51 league goals in that time (32 goals, 19 assists).
