Manchester City midfielder rejects stunning offer from China
Yaya Toure has turned down a sensational offer from the Chinese Super League to remain with Manchester City for the remainder of the season, claims BBC Sport.
The 33-year-old was handed a lucrative route out of City last summer by an unnamed Chinese club that would have seen the Ivorian midfielder pocket a stunning £430,000-a-week.
However, Toure turned down the deal before being exiled from the City squad by Pep Guardiola, although the City boss reversed his decision and reintegrated the ageing midfielder back into the squad in November.
The offer from China was reportedly tabled once again this month but Toure is only interested in seeing out the remainder of the season with City in a bid to win a new contract that will extend his stay beyond the summer.
Toure has scored three league goals since returning to contention in November, while he hasn’t averaged more tackles per game (1.5) since the 2011/12 campaign (1.7).
