Dybala needs to leave Juventus to fulfil potential, states Alves
Dani Alves feels teammate Paulo Dybala needs to leave Juventus in order to realise his immense potential.
The Argentine played a vital role for the Old Lady as they secured the Supercoppa Italiana, Coppa Italia and the Scudetto, not to mention a Champions League final place.
Alves has played just a solitary season alongside Dybala following his free transfer from Barcelona, who have been heavily linked with a move for the forward, last summer.
However, the experienced full-back has seen enough to suggest that his 23-year-old has the makings of a world class star, but that he needs to leave Juventus to live up to expectations.
"We have talked and I told him that one day he will have to leave to improve," Alves told Brazilian TV channel Esporte Interativo via the Independent.
"He is a jewel that will blossom. We talked so many times about it and I said one day, I don't know when, that he will have to leave Juventus if he is to improve even more.”
The Brazilian full-back’s comments are unlikely to have sat well with the Juventus hierarchy, particularly with the 34-year-old hoping to extend his stay in Turin.
What an adorable photo.
Even though he was unceremoniously booted out, Alves is still tapping up people on behalf of Barcelona. How touching. Sorry, not touching, I mean disgusting.
"Fulfil" his potential? His 23 year old? Is Dybala the son of Alves?
@mde Not sure what you're saying - that Alves is over-invested?
