Liverpool and Tottenham want Porto forward

Liverpool and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Vitoria Guimaraes loan star Moussa Marega, according to L’Eqiupe, via The Sun.

Marega, 25, is currently on loan to the Liga NOS side from Porto and has flourished this season, catching the attention of the Premier League duo.

The Mali international only joined Porto at the start of the year following an impressive campaign in Portugal with Maritimo but was shipped out on loan to Vitoria in the summer.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already suggested he could strengthen in January following injury to Danny Ings and Sadio Mane’s expected departure to the African Cup of Nations, while Tottenham may eye new signings following their stuttering league form.

However, both could be forced to fork out a staggering £35.6m to sign Marega, if Porto demand his release clause is met at the turn of the year.

Marega has scored 10 goals in nine league appearances this season in Liga NOS, at least three more than any other player.
