Fenerbahce looking to keep Van Persie

Fenerbahce have announced they have no intentions of selling Robin van Persie less than six months after signing him from Manchester United.

Van Persie, 32, hasn’t settled well in Turkey since making the move and has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth.

However, Fenerbahce have hit out at claims they are about to cash in on one of their star assets.

“The news [is] aiming to break out player van Persie’s motivation,” a statement read.

“We do not plan to sell Van Persie and he does not want to leave. He is a precious player of the squad and he will keep serving our team.”

The Netherlands international has still scored four goals in 11 league appearances this season, but he’s only managed to complete the full 90 minutes once in the Super Lig thus far.
