Bayern Munich hopeful over cut-price deal for Manchester City winger

Bayern Munich are hoping the Coronavirus pandemic will see them sign Manchester City winger Leroy Sane for cheaper than they initially budgeted for, reports Manchester Evening News.

All football is currently suspended to help combat the outbreak, but Bundesliga chiefs have pencilled in a return to league action in early May.

The pandemic, though, is expected to have repercussions in the transfer market as clubs feel the effects of a lack of football.

And Bayern believe that will see Sane's asking price drop from the £145m they were quoted by City last summer.

The Germany international has spent much of the season on the sidelines due to injury sustained in the Community Shield win over Liverpool back in August.

Sane now has a little over 12 months left to run on his current City deal and that should contribute to his asking price dropping.

With no talks in place over extending that contract for the time being, City are weighing up the possibility of cashing in on the 24-year-old this summer rather than lose him on a free.
