Manchester United emerge as potential suitors for Monaco left-back

Manchester United have turned their attention to young Monaco left-back Fode Ballo-Toure as competition for Luke Shaw, reports The Daily Mail.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn't short of left-back options at Old Trafford, with Brandon Williams an able deputy for Shaw where required.

However, the Premier League side are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, who made 18 league starts for Monaco this season.

And if United do firm up thier interest in the Frenchman, it may be that Ballo-Toure has already played his final game for Monaco.

Indeed, the Ligue 1 season was cancelled at the end of April due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with PSG declared champions as a result.

United will hope to be back in action next month, along with the other 19 Premier League teams, with each side cleared to return to training in small groups as of this week.

Monaco are currently under no pressure to sell Ballo-Toure, who currently has three years left to run on his deal at the Stade Louis II.
