Solskjaer makes decision on Martial’s Manchester United future
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to give Anthony Martial another chance to salvage his Manchester United future, claims The Daily Mirror.
Martial was axed from Solskjaer’s squad for United’s draw with Huddersfield last weekend and his future at the club was plunged into doubt following a severe downturn in form in recent months.
The France international has been accused of downing tools since agreeing a new long-term deal with United in January and was seen barely training in the pre-match warm-up against Chelsea last month.
However, United are set for a summer of huge upheaval and do not want to add selling Martial to what will already be a complicated few months.
Solskjaer is ready to axe a number of players before the start of next season, while players like Ander Herrera and Juan Mata are poised to leave on free transfers.
Martial is still highly rated at the club and Solskjaer is ready to give the 23-year-old one final chance to realise his potential at Old Trafford.
The United No.11 has reached 10 league goals in a single campaign for the first time since his debut season for the club but has scored just twice in 12 matches in all competitions since signing a new deal.
