Liverpool considering summer move for Inter passing machine

Liverpool are in talks with Inter over a possible summer £52m move for key midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, reports Libero.

The 27-year-old has established himself as a crucial man in Antonio Conte's midfield and is now widely considered to be one of the best midfielders in Italy.

As such, his stock has soared in recent years, with Brozovic enjoying an impressive 2018 World Cup as Croatia reached the final in Russia to boost his reputation.

Brozovic has two years left to run on his current deal at San Siro and while Inter would be keen to tie him down to a new contract, the player himself may fancy a new challenge.

It's believed the Croat has a £52m release clause in his contract, a fee Inter would likely command if they do decide to sell.

And it's rumoured that Inter are interested in current Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who is contracted to Anfield until next summer.

The Reds are close to agreeing a new deal for the Dutchman, yet may instead look to use Wijnaldum as a makeweight in a possible move for Brozovic.

Only Fabian Ruiz (74.8) is averaging more passes per game than Brozovic (68.7) in Serie A this season to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'passing'.
