Juventus look set to be without Mario Mandzukic for the Champions League last 16 first-leg encounter with Bayern Munich after being ruled out for up to four weeks with a hip injury.
Mandzukic, 29, was forced off in their 3-0 win over Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-final in midweek with an injury and the club have now confirmed the Croatia international will be sidelined for a month as a result.
The former Atletico Madrid striker is now likely to miss Juventus’ first clash with Bayern on February 23, as well as crucial league fixtures against Napoli and Inter.
“Tests on Mandzukic meanwhile revealed a torn gemellus muscle, with the Croatian forward’s rehabilitation process estimated to last four weeks,” a statement read on Juventus’ official website.
Mandzukic has scored six goals in his first 16 league appearances for Juventus since joining from Atletico over the summer.
Moreover, of players to have scored at least five league goals this season, only two players have a higher conversion rate than Mandzukic (25%).
