Yaya Toure will reject a move to Inter Milan in favour of a stay in the Premier League, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Ivorian is widely expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this season, with incoming manager Pep Guardiola keen on revamping the squad.
The Spaniard was responsible for Toure's sale to City back in 2010, while the player's agent has talked up a move away from the Citizens at the end of the season.
Inter have regularly been linked with a move for the 32-year-old and had appeared to be in pole position to secure his services this summer.
However, they have been dealt a blow in their quest to lure Toure to the San Siro, with the Ivory Coast star preferring to remain in England's top tier.
