Everton eye move for £30m-rated Bundesliga star

Everton are interested in signing RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

Forsberg was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League 12 months ago after a breathtaking debut campaign in the Bundesliga.

The Sweden international struggled for form and fitness over the course of last season and his stock has diminished as a result.

Arsenal have been mooted with a move for Forsberg in the past but the Gunners appear to have moved on from the Leipzig creator.

The 26-year-old was kept relatively quiet in Sweden’s quarter-final defeat to England but enjoyed a relatively successful 2018 World Cup campaign.

Forsberg has now emerged on Everton’s radar and Marco Silva’s side are reportedly even prepared to bid £30m to prise the Swede to the Premier League.

Ademola Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at Leipzig and the Bundesliga side have already had one bid turned down for the 20-year-old by the Toffees.

Given Leipzig’s interest in re-signing Lookman, it would not be a surprise if the German outfit attempt to include the youngster in talks with the Merseysiders.

In the last two campaigns, only Thomas Muller (26) has provided more Bundesliga assists than Forsberg (21), but no player has created more goalscoring opportunities than the Leipzig star (133).
