Real Madrid is a dream for every player, says Chelsea star Hazard
Chelsea star Eden Hazard has reiterated playing for Real Madrid is the dream for any player but insists he has had no offers from the European champions.
Madrid are on the verge of selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Serie A giants Juventus and will use that money to overhaul the club’s offensive options.
Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid in the past and has stalled on signing a new Chelsea deal in the last 12 months.
The Belgium international’s idolised Zinedine Zidane as a child but the 27-year-old insists his Madrid departure would not influence his decision to join the Spanish giants.
“Does Real make me dream less without Zidane? Zidane is someone special, it’s true, but I think Real’s everyone’s dream,” he told beIN SPORTS.
“Zidane or no Zidane, the white jersey is special but the blue jersey [of Chelsea] suits me well so it does not bother me if I stay.”
Julen Lopetegui’s side will almost certainly try and sign a big name forward this summer but Hazard is a Plan B for Los Blancos at the moment.
Madrid are keen to sign one of Neymar or Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain and would ideally like both at the club.
Hazard has been in brilliant form for Belgium at the 2018 World Cup and could change Madrid’s transfer plans if he inspires his country to World Cup glory for the first time in their history.
In fact, Hazard has the highest WhoScored rating of (8.56) any player at the 2018 World Cup. Furthermore, only Lionel Messi and Isco (23) have completed more dribbles than the Belgium captain (22).
