Tottenham poised to re-sign former goalkeeper

Tottenham are closing on in a deal to re-sign former goalkeeper Michel Vorm, claims Dutch outlet NOS.

Mauricio Pochettino has been left scrambling for a new goalkeeper after Hugo Lloris was ruled out for the remainder of 2019 with a dislocated elbow before the international break.

It has now emerged Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Vorm on a deal until the end of the current campaign.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Tottenham at the end of last season following five years at the club.

Tottenham have not had a game since Lloris' injury but their decision to re-sign Vorm suggests Pochettino does not trust any of the upcoming goalkeepers in their academy.

Vorm would be available to play for Tottenham as soon as a deal is signed due to the fact he is a free agent, though will likely play deputy for Paulo Gazzaniga.

The former Swansea goalkeeper only made 13 league appearances for Tottenham across his first five years at the club and only kept three clean sheets in that time.
