Nice have completed their third summer signing, sealing a deal for midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou from Dijon, the club have confirmed on their official website.
The 24-year-old joins new recruits Jean-Victor Makengo and Adrien Tameze ahead of the next season, which begins with the third round of Champions League qualifying in July.
With strong interest from across the continent in both Jean Michael Seri and Wylan Cyprien, the fact that Nice’s additions thus far have all been midfielders will certainly add fuel to the fire that last season’s star names could be on their way out.
Lees-Melou was a key player for Dijon as they avoided the drop last time around, and his versatility should be a real asset. Having played from a central midfield role as well as on either flank, the Frenchman scored 7 goals and registered the third highest WhoScored.com rating for his side last season (7.06).
I hope Nice does well again!
