Bayern suffer blow in managerial search with Arsenal taking Tuchel's interest

According to reports in Germany via Sport1, Thomas Tuchel has rejected an approach from Bayern Munich amidst interest from Arsenal.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss was one of the prime candidates to take over from interim boss Jupp Heynckes at the Allianz this summer but the latest suggestion is that the Bundesliga champions and runaway league leaders have suffered a setback in that regard.

Tuchel is believed to be a wanted man after all, with the Gunners one of a number of clubs thought to be considering a move for the unemployed German, who is reportedly interested in succeeding Arsene Wegner at the Emirates.

Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with an approach for the coach after all, but it appears that Bayern are no longer an option of the 44-year-old.

Champions League quarter-finalists Bayern are now having to reassess their options, with Nice manager Lucien Favre, RB Leipzig’s Ralph Hasenhuttl and Frankfurt’s Niko Kovac among those still linked with the soon to be vacant post.
