The agent of Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato has touched down in London in a bid to thrash out a move to Tottenham before the transfer window shuts on Monday, according to Brazilian publication Globoesporte.
Pato, 25, has entered the final four months of his contract and Corinthian’s are keen to sell the player rather than let him go on a free in December.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer, but it is Spurs who appear to have jumped to the front of the queue and are set to discuss terms with Pato’s agent this weekend.
Globoesporte quotes Pato’s agent, Gilmar Veloz: “We have 72 hours to set something up, we’ll see,” as saying. “Something really has, I’m waiting. The Corinthians are trading. Let’s hope, there’s nothing set.”
Pato was tipped for great things when he burst onto the scene at AC Milan as an 18-year-old, but his career has since been heavily disrupted by injuries.
He has spent the last two years back in his homeland and seems to have rediscovered his goalscoring touch. In fact, Pato has scored 21 goals in all competitions this year.
