Hull City have completed signing of Michael Hector on a season-long loan.
The Jamaica international spent last season with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and becomes the Tigers’ sixth summer signing.
“The Tigers have signed Michael Hector on a season-long loan from Premier League Champions Chelsea,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The 25-year-old, who is primarily a centre-back but can operate anywhere across the backline, arrives at the KCOM Stadium with an abundance of experience having made almost 250 career appearances in all competitions.
“Hector, who made the move to Stamford Bridge from Reading in September 2015, experienced continental European football for the first time last season during a productive loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he made 27 appearances for the Bundesliga side as they finished in a respectable 11th position and were only narrowly beaten by Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal final.
“A Jamaican international, he has been capped 12 times by his country and was included in the Reggae Boyz’s 2015 Copa America squad.”
On the move to Hull, Hector said: “When I found out that Hull were interested in taking me on loan, it was an easy decision to make.
“It’s a great challenge for me to come back to England after a season in Germany and try to help this Club get back into the Premier League.
“The players here seem like a great bunch and hopefully I can play my part in helping them - and the Club - enjoy a successful season in 2017/18.”
