Manchester United team news: Pogba starts against Chelsea

Paul Pogba has been recalled to the starting XI by manager Jose Mourinho for Manchester United’s home league game against Chelsea.

The France international’s future at United has plunged into doubt in recent weeks amid suggestions of a falling out with Mourinho.

Pogba was surprisingly dropped to the bench for Wednesday’s 0-0 draw away to Sevilla and was hooked off in each of his last two starts for the club.

There has been plenty written about a supposed coming to blows between Pogba and Mourinho but the United manager has called upon his No.6 as they look to regain second place in the Premier League.

It’s reported that Pogba is unhappy about the role he has been asked to play in United’s midfield but he will line up in his favoured position on the left of a midfield three against Chelsea on Sunday.

Liverpool leapfrogged their rivals following Saturday’s 4-1 win over West Ham but United have only won one of their last 14 encounters with Chelsea.

Despite a run of poor performances, only two players have provided more Premier League assists than Pogba (9) this season.
