Manchester United face dilemma over out of favour forward

Manchester United are struggling to shift out of favour Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez because of his astronomical wages, reports The Standard.

Sanchez has flopped at Old Trafford following his high profile arrival back in January 2018, with the 31-year-old scoring three goals and providing just three assists.

The former Arsenal man was loaned out to Inter last summer, but suffered a nasty ankle injury shortly after his arrival and it has seen him make just nine league appearances in Italy, two of which have been starts.

Sanchez still has two years left to run on his United deal, which is worth an eyewatering £450,000-a-week.

It's forcing the United hierarchy to come up with options on how to handle the club's highest paid player, with no interested party prepared to match Sanchez's wage demands.

Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that Sanchez is not in his plans and the likelihood is that United loan the forward out again later this summer and, like with Inter, contribute towards his wage.
