Swansea target Byram capture

Swansea have been alerted to the availability of Leeds United’s Sam Byram and will make a move for the youngster in January, according to The Daily Mirror.

Bryam has rejected a new deal currently on the table at Elland Road and Swansea will reportedly lodge a bid in the region of £8m for his services when the transfer window opens at the turn of the year.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are also alleged to be monitoring the situation developing around the versatile 22-year-old, who has the ability to play right the way up the right-hand side.

Bryam, whose contract is set to expire next summer, only broke through into the first-team in 2012 but is now Leeds’ longest-serving player at the club.

Monk is reportedly looking to strengthen his forward options following Nathan Dyer’s loan move to Leicester late in the summer and has earmarked Byram as his top target.

Only three Leeds players are winning more aerial duels per game than Byram this season in the Championship (2.6).
