Lacazette’s agent denies Atletico Madrid agreement

The agent of Alexandre Lacazette has denied the Lyon striker has reached personal terms with Atletico Madrid to give renewed hope to Arsenal, report RMC.

Reports emerged suggesting Atletico had agreed terms with the France international at the start of the week as Diego Simeone’s side look to build a side capable of competing in La Liga once again.

However, Lacazette’s agent, David Venitelli, has denied there were talks with Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil last month and that there is no agreement in place with the Spanish side, although there are clubs of a similar stature chasing his signature.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal season for Lyon and looks set to break his best ever goal tally in a league campaign, which was set in 2014/15 when he scored 27 goals.

Lacazette only requires five more goals from Lyon’s remaining nine fixtures to surpass that feat, although he may have his eyes on bigger prizes. Only Edinson Cavani (27) and Lionel Messi (25) have scored more goals in Europe’s top five leagues this season than the Lyon No.10 (23).
