Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri has lauded new arrival Giannelli Imbula, comparing him to former Arsenal and Inter midfielder Patrick Vieira.
Imbula secured a big money move to the Britannia on deadline day earlier this month and netted his first goal for the club in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.
And Shaqiri has heaped praise on his new teammate, telling reporters: “You can compare him to Patrick Vieira, only Giannelli is all left-footed.
"He has that ability to play secure passes all match and that is so important in a midfielder. He has an unbelievably good technique and plays that key pass between the lines."
Imbula gained a WhoScored rating of 8.59 at Bournemouth on Saturday, securing the man of the match award in the process.
