Barcelona plot stunning £100m bid for Manchester United star
Barcelona have identified Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford as a top transfer target this summer and are ready to bid £100m for his signature, reports The Daily Mirror.
Rashford will only have one year left to run on his existing United deal at the end of the current campaign but the Red Devils have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
United have been locked in talks with Rashford’s representatives over a new long-term deal for several months but are yet to make a decisive breakthrough in negotiations.
Rashford’s preference is to remain at his boyhood club and has not thought of leaving since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho before Christmas.
Barcelona are on the market to sign Luis Suarez’s long-term replacement this summer and have already been linked with Frankfurt sensation Luka Jovic.
Ernesto Valverde’s side have now turned their attentions to Rashford and hope contract talks with United drag into the summer.
News has coincidentally emerged on the eve of Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final second leg tie with United and may just be a tactic to unsettle the 21-year-old.
Rashford is enjoying his best ever campaign in front of goal after reaching double figures in the league for the first time in his career.
Rashford has been always a Real Madrid lover! Let them enjoy each other! That if the forward has not already learned the big trick from his representative: rumors about the interest of the big teams, the extension contract, unsigned, big money in the pocket asked! A slight smell of mercenary is felt! Embarrassing!
