Ajax manager to decide future next week

Frank de Boer has announced he will tell Ajax whether he will stay on beyond this season before they jet off on their post-season tour of China, fuelling speculation the Dutchman could be on the verge of leaving the Eredivisie giants.

The 45-year-old has led Ajax to four league titles since he was made head coach in 2010 and Ajax will take the title back from rivals PSV if they manage to beat league minnows De Graafschap in the last game of the season at the weekend.

De Boer has previously been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League but snubbed interest from Newcastle and Tottenham in the past to remain in Amsterdam.

“I have figured out what I’m going to say about my future and I’m going to tell the club before our departure to China. Between Sunday and Friday I will sit down with them at the table,” he is quoted as saying by Football Oranje.

De Boer has won an impressive 65.5% of his league matches since becoming Ajax manager in 2010 and has been linked with the Everton job with Roberto Martinez expected to be sacked at the end of the season.
