Chelsea starlet happy to have left the Bridge

Charly Musonda believes he made the right decision in joining Real Betis on loan from Chelsea.

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Chelsea academy and the Belgian has made a dazzling start to life in La Liga since joining at the end of January.

Despite swapping Chelsea for a potential relegation battle with Betis, Musonda believes this was the perfect move to help kickstart his senior career.

“I started playing football at Anderlecht and grew up there, so the club will always be in my heart,” he told Voetbal Nieuws, via Football Espana.

“Still, I’ve always said that going to Chelsea was the most important step of my career. I’ve received incredible training there. I needed minutes to keep growing, so I had to leave Chelsea, and I did so at the perfect time.

“It’s going well, but I’m not surprised. This is what I expected, but I still have my feet on the ground. I face things as they come.”

Despite missing the first month of the year, only Lionel Messi (47) and Neymar (37)  have completed more dribbles in La Liga in 2016 than Musonda (35), who has only made eight appearances.
