Manchster United’s are set to dip further into their bottomless pockets as they line up an astonishing €36m (£26.5m) for Bayer Leverkusen’s free-kick king Hakan Calhanoglu, reports Turkish Football.
Calhanoglu, who only joined Leverkusen from HSV for €15m (£11m) last summer, has four years remaining on his current deal and has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer.
The Turkish international was ranked the sixth most valuable player aged U21 in Soccerex’s latest report and has been tipped to be superstar in the making.
The 21-year-old has built a reputation for his threatening free-kicks since his emergence in 2013. In fact, Calhanoglu has scored at least five more free-kicks than any other player in Europe's top five leagues in that time (11).
